These are a Large pair of Victorian seated Staffordshire Spaniel dogs, having matching white coats with collars and padlocks. These decorative charmers date to the 1870's. Spaniels were favored as pets by English royalty, in particular by Queen Victoria. Staffordshire pottery spaniels are still avidly collected and in the mid to late 1800's any luxury class home would have these displayed on mantels throughout their homes.
